Christmas Card created by elementary student

Community Outreach Efforts

The Salt Lake City Division has been involved in many programs over the years that have benefited the communities we work and serve in. Our division believes that if law enforcement is to truly contribute to our nation's fight against terrorism, crime, drugs, gangs, and violence in the communities we are sworn to serve and protect, we must be actively involved with local schools, civic organizations, and federal, state, and local agencies.

Some of the Community Outreach Programs this division is currently involved with are:

Citizens' Academy

Christmas Card Contest

This program involves over 1000 at risk students from two Salt Lake City Elementary schools. Each student is asked to draw a picture that can be made into a Christmas card. The cards are voted on and the top three pictures from each school are made into Christmas cards to be used by the FBI in Utah, Idaho, and Montana as the Division's official Christmas cards. An awards ceremony is held at each school during the month of December where the SAC or ASAC is invited to speak to students about drugs and gangs, with strong encouragement given to the students in regards to working hard in school to achieve their highest potential.

Special Olympics Torch Run

Personnel from the Salt Lake City Division have partnered with Special Olympics Utah to help support the Special Olympians from Utah, Idaho, and Montana. Each June, employees from around the three state area run in the Special Olympic Torch run, on their own time, to show their support for these courageous citizens.

Career Fairs/Speeches/Recruiting

Personnel from the Salt Lake City Division are pleased to accommodate requests for speakers on a variety of subjects. This will be subject to speaker's availability. However, a one-month notice in writing must be given in advance of your intended meeting or gathering date. For more information or to request an FBI speaker, please contact the Community Outreach Specialist at (801) 579-1400.
