GERALD LITTLEHEAD FOUND GUILTY IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that on August 30, 2006, in Great Falls, after a 2-day federal district court trial before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, GERALD LITTLEHEAD, a 24-year-old resident of Wolf Point, was acquitted on the second degree murder charge, but found guilty of voluntary manslaughter. Sentencing is set for December 18, 2006. LITTLEHEAD is currently detained. LITTLEHEAD faces possible penalties of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph E. Thaggard prosecuted the case for the United States. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
