JOINT INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN THE ARREST
OF A FUGITIVE FROM CALIFORNIA

Special Agent-In-Charge Timothy J. Fuhrman, Salt Lake City Field Office of the FBI, announced the arrest of Gary W. Wilde, 66, on a California state warrant for sexual assault, lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14. Wilde had fled from state to state for the past thirteen years with two minor females. Wilde had spent time in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Washington and Minnesota.

The Auburn California Police Department with the FBI in Sacramento, were attempting to locate and arrest Wilde. Recently, the Auburn Police Department and the FBI Sacramento requested assistance from the Boise, Idaho, FBI office. Joint cooperation between the FBI in Boise, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Boise Airport Police and the Metro Violent Crimes Task Force, resulted in the arrest of Wilde on May 21, 2007 at the Boise Airport.
