Special Agent In Charge, Timothy J. Fuhrman and Sheriff Kirk Smith of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, announced that:

This morning the Jacksonville, Florida field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Utah fugitive Mark Clifton Bryant pursuant to a Federal Unlawful flight to avoid prosecution (UFAP) warrant issued on June 9, 2008 by U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert J. Braithwaite.

Bryant was convicted by the state of Utah on April 17, 2008 for aggravated kidnapping, child abuse, criminal solicitation, terroristic threats, witness tampering and rape of a minor.

Bryant was arrested at 11:00 a.m. eastern standard time, without incident at the Golden Corral restaurant located at 14035 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida. Bryant was arrested pursuant to viewer tips provided to America’s Most Wanted (AMW). That information was provided by AMW to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Salt Lake City FBI. Bryant was booked into the Duval County Jail in Jacksonville, Florida.

This matter was brought to a successful conclusion by the combined efforts of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI and America’s Most Wanted to swiftly and safely investigate and arrest Bryant.

The FBI would like to once again thank all of its local and federal law enforcement partners and America’s Most Wanted who worked this matter diligently to its successful conclusion.
